DJ Kristoffer

Born December 4 (just like Jay-Z!), 1992, Christopher Rutledge, aka DJ Kristöffer, is a DJ/mashup artist/musician from the Boston area with backgrounds in music, visual art animation and film. He first attempted making mashups in Audacity nearly five years ago, but didn’t really get started until the summer before his junior year in high school when he started learning how to use Ableton Live. Around this time also, Chris and his friends started making all kinds of music, and created the record label/website Belgian Man Records, where they all post their completed work. Over the past year he spent the vast majority of his free time either listening to mashups or making them, and quickly gained the reputation among his friends for being a mashup fanatic. In March 2011 he completed his first full album, “Blunt Roller Coaster.” His favorite mashup artists include Girl Talk, Speaky, E-603, and Deskhop, among many others.

  After three months of work, new mashup artist DJ Kristöffer completed his first full album. As a continuous mix 42 minutes in length, containing 79 samples and split into 14 individual tracks, each with it’s own different track art, Blunt Roller Coaster is a party all the way through.
